Question 1

Is the scan safe? Will it change or break my site?

Accepted Answer

Yes — it's completely safe. Sentinel only reads what's publicly visible to any visitor. It never logs in, never submits forms, and never writes to or modifies your site, so it's fine to run on a live production site.

Question 2

Do I need to install anything or give you login access?

Accepted Answer

No. There's nothing to install and no credentials required. You just enter a public URL and the scanner does the rest from the outside.

Question 3

How long does a scan take?

Accepted Answer

Most scans finish in a few seconds. The scanner fetches the site's headers and a handful of well-known paths, scores the results, and returns a full report immediately.

Question 4

What does the score mean?

Accepted Answer

The 0–100 score weighs each finding by severity — critical and high issues pull it down most. A is 90+, B is 80+, C is 65+, D is 50+, and anything below that is an F. It's a quick gut-check, not a formal penetration test.

Question 5

Is it really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The scan and the emailed report are free, with no obligation. If you'd like help fixing what we find, you can book a free 15-minute consult — that's free too.

Question 6

What do you do with the information I enter?

Accepted Answer

Your name, email, and scan details are used to send you the report and to follow up about your site. We don't sell your data, and we won't spam you.

Question 7

Do you scan non-WordPress sites?

Accepted Answer

Sentinel is built for WordPress. If the site doesn't look like WordPress, the scan still runs the general checks (TLS, headers) but the WordPress-specific findings won't apply.

Question 8

Can you fix the issues you find?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Define Marketing can harden your WordPress site and close the gaps in your report. Book a free consult and we'll outline a prioritised remediation plan.

Question 9

Will the scan show up in my server logs?

Accepted Answer

It will look like a handful of normal visitor requests — a page load and a few requests for common paths. It's lightweight and won't put any load on your server.

Question 10

Is my data shared or sold?

Accepted Answer

No. We use your details to deliver your report and follow up once. We don't share or sell your information to third parties.
